Teddy The Maremma Sheepdog

Maremma sheepdogs have been used in Italy for thousands of years. They were originally used to protect children from bears while their parents worked in the fields.

The dog in the movie "Oddball" was a maremma sheepdog. The movie was based on a true story about how maremma dogs were used to protect penguins on Middle Island (off the coast of Victoria).

Today, maremma dogs are becoming more popular with farmers for protecting chickens and lambs from foxes.

Teddy is definitely another one of our best pets!
